Integrated Resources Institute Awarded $400,000 Grant to Expand Inclusive Services for Individuals with IDD and LGBTQIA+ Identities

Los Angeles, CA –  Integrated Resources Institute (IRI) is proud to announce an expansion of inclusive, culturally responsive services for individuals at the intersection of IDD and LGBTQIA+ identities.

Through a Service Access and Equity Grant from the California Department of Developmental Services, we will be starting a new initiative championing queer visibility and inclusive strategies for people with IDD. By partnering with and uplifting the voices of those with lived experience at this intersection, we aim to reduce disparities in access, strengthen support systems, and improve outcomes across Southern California.

As a part of this initiative, we will also be providing in-depth training to service providers looking to strengthen their ability to serve and support those with IDD who identify as queer, as well as bring awareness to the unique challenges that this intersection provides.

IRI has partnered with WISE, a non-profit organization focused on utilizing trainings, advocacy, and community-based support to advance equity and access to employment for people with disabilities.

IRI extends its gratitude to the following regional centers for their support of this initiative:

  • San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center

  • North Los Angeles County Regional Center

  • Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center

  • Westside Regional Center
