The IRI CENTER FOR INCLUSIVE AND POSITIVE SUPPORT provides educational consultation to families and their children with disabilities.

 WHO I AM

Dr. Jan Weiner has been a professor in the Department of Special Education at California State University, Fullerton, since 1992.  Prior to that, she completed a post-doc appointment with Mark Durand at SUNY, Albany, where she worked on a training-of-trainers federal grant researching Positive Behavior Support and Autism.  She has been a teacher, administrator, clinician, and educational consultant specializing in the support of individuals with labels of autism, Down syndrome, and other very significant disabilities in a variety of contexts.  Her research and grant pursuits focus on the full inclusion of preschoolers through 12th graders, adult transition outcomes in integrated employment, parent support, systems change, school-wide/individualized positive behavior support, pre-service/in-service teacher training in systematic and differentiated instruction, professional learning communities, and response to intervention.  Dr. Weiner created the Full Inclusion Preschool Project (FIPP) in OC in 1999, which continues to sustain itself to this day.  She also developed the Support Services of Jewish Family Service of OC.
